On March 5th, 2004, I met Dorothy Lee Porter after I have not seen her since 1989 at the Decatur Public Transit Center. I walked up to her and asked her if she was dating anyone, and she told me no. so I asked if she wanted to go with me and she told me that she would think about it. so after that day, where ever I went she was there. surprisingly we kept bumping in to each other. So we decided to have a couple of dinner dates. I would fix dinner in my apartment on E. North, St. have her come over and we would eat dinner together. a week later, she would fix dinner, call me over and as soon as I arrived there, I had dinner with her. There was a surprise waiting for me after I got done eating dinner at her house on N. Monroe, St. After I finished eating dinner with her, I told her that I would take the dishes in the kitchen to the sink. When I got ready to go in the kitchen to put them in the sink, I stepped on something sharp. Dorothy told me to take my shoe off. she looked and told me that it was her sewing needle. NOTE: Remember Aesop Fables? CHECK THIS OUT!! After she told me that it was her sewing needle, I told her that if she took that needle off my foot, I would be her friend for life, and that I would do anything she would ask me. So she took the needle out, and I told her that she was now my very best friend and asked her what she wanted. She told me that she would like for me to come live with her. So I told her that I already had an apartment and that if I moved out, I would have to move the end of the month. So it was the middle of the month and I thought what could it really hurt. for one thing, it hurt my security deposit, plus other things. So I asked around and I could not get someone to move my things. Until I talked with one of the former members of Central United Methodist Church, he told me that he would be glad to and that he would not charge me. so we got everything moved into Dorothy’s house. After I lived there about one year, we decided that we wanted to get married. so I called my family and my sister in law said that we could not get married because it would hurt our Social Security. So I told her that I loved her very much and that Dorothy was looking very forward to doing this. So my sister in law said that we can get married but it would have to be like a Commitment Ceremony, where it would not hurt or touch our Social Security. so we ended up with a Commitment Ceremony on May 28th, 2005. It was terrific. for years after the ceremony, we did what every married couples do, we got in tons of arguments. so we had to end our relationship together on January 4th, 2008. But that really did not stop how much we really meant to each other. to this day, we really love each other. We went from Boyfriend-Girlfriend, to a comitted marraige, then to friends. We will remain friends, till the very end. On Wed. Feb. 15th, 2012 she will celebrate her 50th birthday with a special lunch & dinner.

For the last few months I have been rehearsing new songs to perform with my church choir for the audience @ Kirkland Fine Arts Center. This will be my 1st time that I have sang in front of a live audience with our choiir + 9 other choirs (including the youth). I am a bit nervous, as I was when I sang @ our church service last year. But knowing that GOD is with me I know that I will have the courage to do the job right.  As I read the bible, I was reminded in Psalm 105:1-6, “1) O give thanks to the Lord, call on his name, make known his deeds among the peoples. 2) sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wonderful works. 3) Glory in his holy name;    let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.
4)  Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually. 5) Remember the wonderful works he has done,    his miracles, and the judgements he has uttered, 6) O offspring of his servant Abraham, children of Jacob, his chosen ones.” If you or anyone you know has been very nervous to do something in front of people for the 1st time, go to Psalms 105:1-6 & praise the LORD for a new song.

Do you or anyone you know feel like they were out of control? I have had a lot of problems in my life & just blew up. I would explode to my family, friends, Co-workers as well as my girl friend. I have tried too many times to just take a deep breath & keep calm but it just would not work. We all face challenges in our life that we try to just work it out, but it just happens all over again & again. Everyone knows that Jesus helps those who are hurting in every situation. There are passages in the Bible that helps us in our daily life. I love to read the Book Of Proverbs. It gives me the encouragement to have Wisdom. I read one chapter a day & try real hard to memorize it. I love to read & eat the word so much that I just want it to soak in my soul. Next time that you are out of control, focus on GOD & soak his word in your soul. It will do your heart, mind & soul good. GOD Bless ~ Andy Wilson: Administrator for Prayers For A Healing World.
